One has to compensate for outside temp, as soon as the bike starts moving it creates friction and the pressure increase. I believe that if you are running an inner tube, the tube itself has max air pressure and causes additional friction when running. Just my .02.

On Shinkos you need to run them at what is on the side wall, or up to 4 psi less, so if it says 49, you ca run 45 for example. I have had a few sets of their tires and I got this from the factory rep. The tires handle well, but they don't last long, they are light weight and sticky depending on the model. The 712 are good, the 777 wear out way fast.

Start by finding factory specifications for recommended tire pressure in your owners manual or under the factory original seat. This will be the correct pressure for your bike if the tires are sized to the factory specifications.

If you have changed tire sizes or changed the weight of the bike you will need to adjust up or down from the factory numbers until it "feels right",

Riding style, load, road conditions and even attitude will also change the factory recommendations.

Tire companies will make a single tire size and model that may fit 100s of bikes. They will supply a max specification based on what the tire is designed for (this is also true for cars).

Tire pressure is a leading cause of motorcycle accidents. Please be informed and periodically check tire pressure before you ride.

My KZP has 36 marked one the fender both front and rear. So I used that

I think that is the waist size of the previous owning for ordering rain gear pants.

I'm generally a firm believer in inflating tires to the pressure recommended in the motorcycle owners manual (MOM). The reason I say generally is to leave an exception for when I'm running tires significantly different from what the motorcycle manufacturer put on the bike. My case in point is my KZ1000-P7. The police bike MOM says put 36 psi in both the front and the rear tire. Well, the police bike MOM also says to run Dunlop run flat tires. Well, I decided I wanted better cornering and bought bridgestone battleaxe tires. When I ran these tires at 36 psi I found the bike to be rather unstable at 75 MPH. So I looked in the kz1000 service manual and found a wide range of recommended tire pressures base on specific model of kz1000. So I picked the tire pressure that I thought matched the current bike configuration. So now I run 28 in the front and 30 in the rear. The stability issues at speed are gone.

Nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect.
