Shock compression question was created by clayfmx
I've got a 1978 kz750 that I'm building a custom out of. Does anyone the length of the rear shocks (eyelet to eyelet) when they are fully compressed (bottomed)?

I'm not sure that number is specified. The length is specified unloaded. They also spec the force required to compress the spring 1" or 2" as I recall. I have the 1979 KZ750 twin which is basically identical. I think the spec on the progressive springs I got was 80 lbs to compress one inch and 120 to compress the second inch or something like that.
Anyway, the "free length" uncompressed is specified most places but I haven't seen a "fully compressed" spec before.

In case anyone is interested. I put one of my rear shocks in my press. Full shock compression from eyelet to eyelet is 10".
