KZ650 & KZ750 Motor Mount Question was created by skooterbum4real
Are the KZ650 motor mounts, the same as the KZ750's ??

Reason I'm asking is, I've seen the engine guards for the 650's selling for $40 to $50, but the same guards listed for the 750's sell for $70 to $80. So if they have the same engine mounts, or bolt patterns, then I will get the guards listed for the 650's.

I know I'm real rusty when it comes to these bikes, so if I don't explain myself correctly, you will have to excuse me.

If I remember correctly, the case guards bolt on at the bottom front motor mount, and the top front motor mount assembly. I could very well be wrong, and personally at this point, It doesn't matter.

No matter where they bolt on, as they , (I believe), "bolt on at the same location on both bikes", my question is the same, even if I didn't explain myself properly in my first post, will the case guards / engine guards from the kz650's, bolt on to the kz750's ??

Any HELP will be appreciated.

Yea I just noticed that in the last picture I saw of them.

Still want to know if the engine guards for the kz650's will be a direct fit on the kz750's ??

According to the Kawasaki site the 750E and 750H share most of the motor mounts and hardware with the 650A, B, C, and D. The rear right motor mount Is not the same on the parts diagrams. However, because the left one fits both the 650 and the 750 the mount likely will line up fine on your 750. It appears there is some type of bracket added to the plate that caused it to be exclusive to the 750.

Thanks DoctoRot !! That leads me to believe that there the same part / engine guards, for both bikes. That's what I wanted to know.

Make sure the engine guards are for a 750-4. The 750-Twin guards are different.
The KZ650 & KZ750 (4-cyl) engine guards are the same. I think 1 or 2 of the GPzs are different.
Also, the 3-pt guards are preferable as the 2-pt type can fold over in a crash.

+1 on what Martin posted...not all 750-4 guards are the same...for example the 1983 750L model doesn't fit the 1982 750R1 model...at least one of the mount points doesn't line up...and the motors of both these models are dimensionally identical
