Brakes help for a Motorcycle noob was created by sethmahan
So I just bought a kz1100 for 100 dollars, and I've never had a bike before so I don't really know what im doing yet. Anyway, I went to pick up the bike and when I tried to move it, I found out that the rear brake was locked up and the rear wheel wouldn't move. So I tried pushing the brake pedal and it moved slowly, I thought I was getting somewhere, but when I pushed harder the lever actually snapped off, so I'm wondering what the shaft is called that broke so that I can replace it once I actually get the bike home.

What KZ1100 is it? Year & model.
I'm guessing the Rr Br shaft broke --- the part in which the brake pedal is attached. ???
Find your bike at Partzilla.com or PowerSportsWarehouse, then look in the Brake-Pedal /Torque-Link diagram & Rear-Brake diagram.
Also, if you remove the Fr & Rr disks, they might look similar but aren't the same, so don't mix them up.

Yes that's where it broke, and it's a 1983 LTD.
