Z1R Bars on a 72 Z1 was created by Yorkie
I own a '72 Z1 and I am not a fan of the stock bars so I was thinking of fitting some Z1R bars I have lying around. If I fit these bars will I be forced to change out the cable and brake hose or will the stock US parts work with the Z1R bars? I also have some superbike bars and was wondering the same thing about those.
Thanks

Unless it's a Harley they all have 7/8" inch bars. The only challenge might be the locator hole for the hand controls and the oval hole in the center of the bars for the wiring.

The stock cables are a little long as is the brake hose. The brake hose can be re routed behind the headlight and looks ok out of sight. Throttle & clutch cables stick out little to far. Your best is to go ahead and order shorter cables. Z1 enterprise has what you need.
I'd be more then happy to buy them Z1R bars from you

Read the description and dig around to find short clutch cable or call Rob at Z1 he will fix you up.

Mine is one for the first 100 but it is missing a lot of the rare early parts like no-bar carbs, cast in vacuum port head and date coded switch gears so the purists would hate it. The bike has been restored with a lot of reproduction parts so its nowhere near as valuable as the high dollar ones you see on ebay. I plan on changing a few things to suit my taste but it will not be butchered.
