No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationAny Vetter experts out there? I've got a Vetter Vindcator 5 fairing on my 83 LTD 1100. The bracket is fractured close to the frame mounting as shown in the pic below. When I search the web it appears the smaller bikes use the tubing version of the Vetter frame. I think the big bikes, 1000 and 1100 CC bikes use an angle iron support brackets as shown on this ebay item. Almost looks like there are flanges for mounting the angle iron version if you look inside the downtubes on the right side above the break in the Vetter frame. A Kawi dealer in Utah installed this when it was sold new, but I know they didn't use the proper mounting hardware on the flying trunk so quite possible they cheaped out and used a bracket on hand for the fairing.

If you have a welder, you can make a new bracket. If not you can take it to a welding shop, call first for an estimate.
I made mine for my 82 K2 LTD. Only took about an hour or so, and a couple of cold beers. I used solid round stock to run down to the frame tubes, and the angle Iron at the upper frame mount. Never had any sign of weakness/ flex. Having one made might be cheaper than a New Old Stock from Feebay. Definitely can be made to be stronger than the original.

I think you're right. My brief search, on the bay, shows ALL the angled stock brackets are for the big bikes. But IMPO it was a bracket for a smaller bike put on your bike. All the round stock brackets show as 650/750. Just confirming your statement in the OP.
