Gas Cap Rubber Gasket ??? was created by kzdcw
Noticed my Stock Gas Cap rubber gasket on my 77' KZ1000A is cracked around the whole outer circumference. Like to replace it.

I see 2 different part #'s listed for it from different Venders?

51059-008 or 1109-1051

Will either one above fit my Gas Cap? Can't tell from the pictures?

51059-008 is the Kawasaki part number, the other number is not a Kawasaki number. The gasket is no longer available unless you find one sitting on the shelf.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Beware buying NOS rubber parts. I bought my fork dust boots from Z1 and they started cracking 6 months later.

I sent a e-mail about it but got no response.
Buy new.

Actually Part # 11009-1051 is a Kawasaki Part #. Shows it fits 81' and up. Has anyone used this Gasket for earlier KZ's?

I have no personal experience with that, but I noticed that the '81 and up gas cap is totally different than the 1977, so that may be why it requires a different gasket. I recommend you get a gasket that has the part number listed in the parts diagram for your model bike. Ed

Sorry about my mistake on the part numbers. The 51059 number is still the one you want, the 1109 number was used starting with the 79 KZ1000 that used an entirely different cap. I doubt they could interchange.
