Tube tires (w tubes) safe on Kawi tubeless mags? was created by DSummerlin
Title says it. I bought a couple of tires for my GPZ 550 off of Bike Bandit. The first one got here and now I realize that they're tube type tires. I only plan to beat around town on it, but is there imminent danger of the tires not seating well enough on the rim that one might roll off? Have read all kinds of things elsewhere, so figure I should ask you guys about your experience.

No worry. Just install a tube.

That's right. You don't need a V rated tire on a 550 unless your running NOX.

??? .
I had to use tubeless tyres with inners on my 1980 GSX wheels, but the GPz's are all tubeless tyres.
Seems an odd way of doing things the other way around,

I live near Portland, Oregon and my rider is a '76 KZ900 I bought new. I'm also in the process of restoring another one and a '73 Z1.

I have had to put tubes in tubeless tires since I bought Lester mags back in the 70's - they just didn't hold air without them. On another note, I bought new tires a couple years ago and tried to mount them myself. I couldn't do it without pinching the tubes so I took them to a "reputable" bike shop and paid them to do it, with new tubes. The next time I wanted to ride both tires were flat, so I took the wheels off the bike and went to another "reputable" shop to do it again. They insisted I did not need tubes, but I said I didn't care - put them in anyway. The bike sits in the garage with 2 flat tires again.
