77' KZ1000A. One of my front footrest studs Part # 92004-067 ( there are a total of 4 ) appears to be striped. Have a couple of replacements. How difficult are they to remove? There don't screw in, so don't know if I try to double nut one side and try backing it out or pounding it out? Has anyone done this before?

From the looks of them, I don't be they are screwed into the frame. It looks to me they would have to pounded in or out to removed.

Don't pound on them ! Remove the back nut, they un-thread out of the frame.

KZPete, I'll try to unscrew them from the front or outside. But I have 2 in hand already and from the looks of them, I don't see how they would screw into the frame?
The outside measurements of the threaded studs are 8mm and 10mm. And the shoulder/sleeve between them measures 12mm. But i'll take everything apart and look closely? Must be 10mm threaded inside the frame?

There is a locking /back nut on the inside of the frame. The hole where they go into the frame IS threaded. Once you have the nut in the back removed, simply unscrew them. Based on the beating you have given them, use a locking pliers like a vice grips to grab the smooth shank of the stud and turn it counter-clockwise like loosening any old regular bolt.....
Yes it is 10mm-1.25 IIRC.....

On my bike, there were nuts on the inside of the frame, I removed the nuts, looked it over and smacked the shit out of it couple times....grrrr. Happened to be welding on the frame at the same time, grabbed a big lug nut, welded it to the stud, impact backed it right out, repeated 3 x.

Pete, What year is your bike? Mine's a 77' KZ1000A. It does have a nut on the backside or inside of the frame which is the bigger end of the threaded stud. The outer threaded stud which mounts the footrest bracket ( left side ) is the smaller end on the stud. Did you screw your stud out this direction? If so, then I can probably double nut the small threaded outside end of the stud then back it out by turning it counter clockwise? I don't have welder.

Screws right out with no problems. Now I know and Thank You for your input !
Small threaded end for the foot peg bracket. It's 8mm but have to find the right pitch? Don't have a Nut to fit it.

if you want a bit cleaner look you can cut off the 8mm stud, and drill and tap for a 8mm bolt. I did it on my 1000 project with rear sets. looks better than an acorn nut, IMHO.
