Centerstand Stop Ideas? was created by kzdcw
Have a Vance & Hines 4 into 1 mounted on my 77' KZ1000A. Mounted nicely but don't like the center stand stop strap they provided with the exhaust. Has someone fabricated a nicer and smaller one that works? Just try to get any ideas from anyone who has this set-up?

Wouldnt be without one
Have this coming down from pillion peg holder which is no longer there - solo registration
It aint pretty but does the job - rubber grommet super glued onto bottom so stand doesnt bash on it
Would like to make up a bracket that tucks in behind top centre stand mount but havnt quite got around to it - they are very neat and completely unseen - have seen pics on KZR - anyone with one ? kzdcw

I've been planning to do something about the cheesy stop too. Haven't gotten to it yet.
Mick, you have to register the riders there?

Saw that Ed, but the center stand attachment is different for the Kz1000. I think I still may have the original L-side muffler bracket which has a stop built in it according to the parts diagram. I'll look around for that and see if I might be able to use that for right now until I come up with an idea on how to make one.

Steve - slightly different to your system here.
Registration is for bike and in this state - if you take off pillion pegs and get a compliance plate on bike done by a shop who offers that service. This state appears to be only one you can do it in too - (7 states or territories here)
You are supposed to take foam out of back half of seat also ,but i didnt and no problem.
Normally the registration for a 2 seater would be @$450 - solo registration is @$210 per year - the difference is all 3rd party insurance - never liked doubling anyway unless it was a nice lady.
Footpeg holders in pic are customised by me - took me many many hours - had daggy bits hanging off ends for pillion pegs - got another set off ebay - cut ends off and polished the lot - look pretty sweet.

Mick, my insurance is for damage done by me, uninsured motorist and road side service. Nothing for the passenger. I have a extra helmet in case I get lucky. I do not have male passengers.

Steve - the 3rd party insurance - damage i may do (thats it) - is included in that $210 - for a 2 seater the extra $240 a year is for anything that may happen to passenger and still just for damage i may do if i had 2 seats - full insurance for mine is about $500 a year on top of registration
