kz550 swing arm swap?? newb here was created by tobin112
hello everyone im new to the forum. I know this is probably redundant and probably has already been answered. anyways I have a 81 kz550 that Is just sitting. I use to drag race it in the dirt. I am wanting to swap out the swing arm so I can stretch it out. does anyone know of any swing arms I can put on it with little work? im not concered about shock tabs. I plan to weld a set onto it and run struts. also a square swingarm will be ideal so I can use it for an air tank for the air shifter. thanks in advance

kz650 kz 750 are I think about an inch longer. I fitted a custom braced one my 550, I think the bearing cups needed machining a few mm. but it was fairly straight forward.
I've seen later zx550 box section alloy swingarms used on these , but I don't think they are any longer.
A 900 / 1000 /1100 might do you for length but the wheel and swingarm spindle sizes are different.

length isn't the issue. I can cut one up and stretch it. ive heard that a zr7 might but im not sure. I just don't want to have the round tubing stretched out. I think it will look ugly lol

edit: the 'box section alloy zx swing arms' are actually steel painted silver IIRC my bad...
