The Great Swing Arm Debate: GS1100E -vs- GSX-F750

Hi all,

The swingarm came off a zr1100

It normally takes a 20mm pin but I made "adapters" that allow use of the stock 15mm pin. Real simple to do.

The frame was checked for straightness, then gussetted & welded. The rear pag triangle was removed. A set of ZRX shocks will work nicely and really dress things up.

It currently allows use of a 160 rear tire. This is limited by the wheel not the swigarm.

wireman i must have married your wife's sister. i have done work on the dinner table also.

takes a special lady to allow you to use the dinner table as a work bench, or set up the dinning room as a paint booth in the winter time when the garage was to cold to paint in.

That looks tight wireman! I want to see some pics of the finished project.

Thanks timber for the link. I think I found one at my local salvage yard. The salvage tech kept askin me if I only wanted him to look for the 82. I am planning on putting the gpz split mag rims on, probably from a 84 for the rear and I am thinking of swaping out the forks & trees for a 86 gpz550. Has anyone done the swap with the 83 gs1100 swing? I LOVE the zxr swing look & rims, but it looks like more work than I want to do right now.

thats a gsxr swingarm but it dont look anything like that now.its getting extended 3" so it will be about 4-4 1/2" longer than a kz arm.the axle mounting flanges are being milled out billet aluminum they will extend about 4" inside the existing swingarm tubing and about 4"out the back kind of like a cal-fab swingarm with shock mounts milled into them.the right side tube is being made into air shifter tank, and it will be braced on bottem side.i need to find a caliper that can be mounted upside down so we can make the spacers and caliper mounting bracker.we are going to use the stock monoshock mount as part of the top mount for nitrous bottle.i was at machine shop yesterday going over the final details for it,i think he was gonna start milling the flanges today so maybe in a couple days he will have made enough progress for me to take some pictures of it.
