Brake Caliper Mounting Bracket. was created by 4TheKZ1000
I was needing some measurements confirmed.
Called Chris at Z1 to get a caliper rebuild kit. When I received it, the 4 rubber boots didn't seem to fit correctly on the caliper mounting plate studs. We were unable to figure it out. The boots seemed very small and had to stretch them/forced them to get them on.
Does anyone have a mount bracket to measure the fingers or studs that stick out of both sides.? The front end came off a 79 kz 1000 LTD - it has dual brakes. Is this a correct plate, are the rubber boots to fit this tight.
Mine is as follows:
Straight post: 0.590 in
Shoulder Side: 0.636 in
Thanks, Spencer

If these are the rubber boots that hold the brake caliper grease mine were a nice snug fit. If I remember correctly, my 80 1000 st boots slipped snug onto the nipple of the bracket and dropped into a little ridge in the nipple to hold the boot in place. Hope that helps
