Replacing stock KZ1000P swingarm was created by Copbike1000
Hi guys,
So, I've purchased a ZX636 swing arm, ZX rear wheel and ZX636 Mono shock. I am beginning to wonder if the ZX636 mono shock can support the weight of my KZ1000P? Looking at the mono shock, it seems a little lacking in structure compared to other mono shocks I've seen around for other bikes. Any thoughts? EXAMPLE:
ZX636 Mono shock
Other random Mono shock for comparison...

The stock ZX636 weighs 150 - 200 pounds less than the KZ1000-P. So whether or not the ZX636 shock is too lightweight may depend on how much weight you trim from the KZ1000-P. Ed

Thanks Ed, good point. So, I have removed all of the cop stuff. My guess is that my KZP is now closer to the weight of a stock KZ. I do realize that the KZP has enhanced gusseting, adding weight to frame.
I think that the ZX636 mono shock will be fine.

Well, I answered my own question. I was concerned that the ZX636 mono shock might not support the KZ1000P but, I put my concerns out on this forum while I awaited the shipment of the mono shock. First off, the pics of the mono shock on Ebay, did no justice to the actual mono shock. The ZX636 mono shock is a solid (beefy) unit that will do the job on my bike.
Next time I will not jump the gun before I actually have the part in hand. My worries are officially put to rest!
