Does anyone know if there is an interference problem fitting a 1978 Police 1000 KZ1000C1 rear wheel (mag) in a KZ1000A swinging arm?
The reason I ask is that the p/n for the swinging are for the two bikes are different. And I think the cop bike ran larger/wider tires?
Before I fork over the cash for the cop bike wheel I would like to be pretty sure it will fit.
My second (may be preferred) option is to go with the standard spoked wire-wheel but I am having a hard time finding a sprocket hub (drive coupling) for that wheel. I posted a want-ad for one, so maybe with luck one will turn up.
I want to stay with the 18" rear wheel size. BTW - the LTD models with the 16" wheel have a different swinging arm p/n than the A model. Anybody know why? I thought the LTD wheel could be retrofitted straight into the A swinging arm. Am I wrong in thinking that?
Thanks.
Peter

Different Models ...Different p/n.
16" wheel fits... But the hub from the 16" mag won't fit the 18" spoke wheel. I did buy a police rear 18" wheel but never tried to fit it...the rim lip was difficult them the regular model Kz mags.

Thanks spdygon.
I knew that the mag hub won't fit the wire wheel.
The cop bikes had run-flat tires size MR90-18 I believe.
Is the rim difference due to the run- flat tires?
Will a normal 120/90 or 4.25" tire fit the cop wheel?
