Mine is reversed thread so that when you rotate the knob counter clockwise, it cranks the trip odometer forward to 0000.swest wrote: I think it's a reverse thread.

It freewheels in the other direction and you have to hold the other side of the shaft with needle nose pliers somehow to loosen the collar.

Z1-R speedo has a reset knob out the front it has a LH thread and the reset shaft doesn't rotate CCW,
which allows removal of the knob - see pic.

that is the way the knob mounts to the shaft on some of them but the shaft is a reverse thread on a collar76KZ900 wrote: I have sane bike. Just took mine apart to install new tach. I used a micro Philips screw driver. I don't remember mine being reverse thread though. Screw is super small. I left mine in knob do I didn't lose it. Drop that sucker game over
