So I've noticed my kzs rear shocks are pretty rough when going over bumps because I changed the red plastic lense on my rear tail light and just noticed it's cracked on the bottom. Either the hard bumps or the way it's mounted is rattling it really bad to crack it. How do I smooth out the rear shock problem. It hurts my ass. Pluss my seat only has like an inch of foam.

Rear lights are rubber mounted and should have a bit of spring in them. Us Euros put up with rust, you guys from the sunnier places have to accept that rubber parts won't last as long.
I like to pick the back end up a bit so go for about 360 -365mm, although IIRC the originals were around 330-350mm.

In 2007 I bought YSS shocks for my 650. They were custom made and worth every penny about $700.00. The absolute best money I spent on the bike. I went for years using all sorts of aftermarket shocks. I was disappointed with every one of them, my last set were Hagons, In 2007 I was riding the 215 freeway in California and the bike was bouncing so bad on the expansion joints I thought something was mechanically wrong with my bike. I stopped several times to make sure there was nothing wrong. That was the last straw, I ordered up the YSS shocks and wow what a difference in the ride, the bike handles so much better and the ride is so much smoother. I added up all the money I had spent on shocks over the years and I would have been money ahead had I simply bought a set if high quality shocks from the start.

I ride the same FWY's and am very happy with the new ones I have. I don't CYN carve anymore but the turns I do go through tax the bike and it holds steady. I can thin k of better things to spend $700 on.
