The U bolts would snap before that. Maybe a crash?
Again what I was hinting at, thinking how tight an engine mount or swing arm spindle goes - in weaker non tube box section, compared to a midget M6 U bolt... finding one of these that hasn't been crashed and likely rebuilt more than once is quite rare now.
Today I have all the questions but no answers. :side: interesting thread, keep it rolling.

Early 90s KXs had some weird fragile frames would crack like glass. Ive welded a few , ran them on mx tracks, big jumps, etc....not going to be a problem welding/blending that frame.

Welding around a tube like that is not the most ideal thing to do,I wonder if you could weld a pin into the center of the dent and pull out on it by warming the tube up just a little?

I'm not a welder so don't know if any of the other advice is sound, but sleeving the area, using a larger diameter tube fitted around that area, and welded on, would brace that up well.
Maybe overkill, and would not look original.

I'd be talking to someone about sleeving that spot and filling somehow.
