I wouldnt run anything bigger than a 130 on the stock rim myself. ;)

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

I'm going back to the 120. The 130 was too tall and the patch too narrow. Put it on the center stand and the tire was still touching the ground.

Should the tire manufacturer's rim size recommendation be taken as a recommendation or a hard rule. The recommended rim size for the 150 dunlop i have is 3.5 but it seems to work fine on the stock 3 inch mag. Is this thing going to detach from the rim?

tire sizes vary by manufacturer,
a 150 from someone may measure 5 inches (or whatever) and from another maker measure 4.750 or 5.250 not sure how much variation there actually is,but i know there is some.

use your head,
look at the way the tire sits against the bead and flange.does it look like it is sealed up well???
how does the crown of the tire look, nicely rounded, peaked or flattened in the center????compared to how it sat unmounted.

it's your booty rollin down the road on the thing.make up your own mind .

we are talking about a quarter of an inch per-side pulled out or squeezed in.
i have a hard time believing either will cause instant death.
uneven wear??? perhaps. but i doubt it matters.

thats my.02

A 16 inch ( LTD 1000 ) wheel came stock with a 5.00 x 16 RWL Goodyear tire. No longer available
This is the same size as a 130 modern sized tire which is what I run on my LTD with no issues
The wheel will hold a 150 tire but it wont give the proper shape of tire to contact it to the ground for good handling.
A 18 inch wheel may only fit a 120 tire. Not my area of expertise
Hope this Helps
