frame repair good deal! was created by 9er rider
Brown Santa is not being nice. I bought a titled frame so Id have a project to use all the parts I've acquired over the years and have something to do in the shop for a year or two. This is what I ended up with, rusted and broken bolts in the engine mount bosses .So I doused with Kroil and took a pick to clean up the rust to which I dug out the bolts with a pick! and chased the threads that didnt exist grinding the welds down flat, and retap to 10mm and build the boss with washers nooo. Then there was a fire that caused the frame rail under the seat to bubble and split I could replace with another tube but I havent a clue what wall thickness as this is out of my element. I want to fix it right.for not only my life but maybe someone else. It costs more to send it back than what was paid. I could use some advice to devise a plan to move forward, All Fast not Half Fast. thank you.

Why don't you close it back up and weld it?

that is what Im considering its about where the damper on the seat contacts are of coarse being like you Ive gained weight every where but the butt I wonder how much the burnt metal will withstand structurally, I only want to do this once and move on. Maybe push the blister back in, weld then braise to fill?

As long as it cooled naturally it shouldn't be a problem. Even then, it's under the seat. I don't think it will be a problem.
