Rear Koni shock ? was created by spdygon
This shock came with the last kz900 I bout. Question I have is ...this there suppose to be a ring between shock body and spring.
Spring move around and if it move to one side it kind of hangs out.

The spring should NOT move from side to side & overhang under the retainer

Shouldn't there be some kind of deep shoulder washer to keep the spring centered?

I goofed up on a pair of shocks once , I removed the cheap and nasty looking plastic insert then realised why it was there.

I picked up these koni's today that have been in attic for 20 plus years . there are no retaining washers. If there loose, the springs are probably worn. adjust the tensioner and maybe the spring wont slide around . On the the least setting the spring will be loose
This is a koni shock, nothing more
