A couple years ago I bought a 77 kz1000 from a guy, he was trying to peddle off a couple extra parts to me, an extra kz frame and a cb750 parts setup, I said sure, and laughed the whole time I loaded up the forks frame and some morris mags from a 73 z1, and the front half of an early (1100 or so) sandcast cb750 that he used for parts to make his and his buddies choppers. Combined dude would have around 10grand if he just sold them outright.
As for the kz1000 being a bad ass kickstart motor, yes it is. The kick setup is pretty weak though, I've bent three kickers in two years. And there are better donors out there. If you were near me I would trade you a frame and engine for what you have
my bikes; 80kz1000(project), 77 gl1000, 74 h2 (project)
Past; 78 kz1000, 83 kz550
