I'm gearing up to rebuild the forks on my GPz 750. Air forks on this model. Monday is going to be spent out in the garage sizing up the job and reading the factory service manual. Any special focus items as I prepare to do this?

Should be pretty straight forward. Leave the oil in the forks, remove clip from underneath dust seal. If yo have a press you can force the seal out compressing the fork, I Use a bench vise to support the top while compressing with a floor jack, the pressure from for oil will push out the fork seal. Use correct size pvc pipe to drive new seal into fork. I have used this method many times without special tools. I can't speak on your 85 GPZ, as I believe it has anti dive front forks, works great on conventional forks. Hope this helps you out.

Im not familiar with these particular forks,Recently ive done several sets, including my 81 1100A.
Remove the oil,and then reseal, remove seal clip, cover with a rag, and apply air pressure.
If you are only doing the seals its much easier than full disassembly

Thanks for the input. Yes, these have the anti-dive. A couple of cups of coffee and Mr Service manual to start the day tomorrow. That and 6 inches of snow.
