Center stand question

I remember that I used to pull them off and use a swing arm bolt through the mounts when i needed it in the shop.
Well mine takes two short fat shoulder bolts to mount it so if i use a through pin Im sure it'll mess the treads up.
This puts me back to keeping it on there and i really dont want to weld anything to the frame.
With the factory exhaust it has a bumper to hit on but with the header that of course is gone.
Anyone dealt with this and came up with a viable solution?

Finally removed the center-stand from mine to experience the ride without it. It will stay off until needed for service or storage.

I took mine off to save weight and for a cleaner look years ago too..... might bite us if we need it along side the road but that's what my truck is for. Can put it on and remove it in about 10 seconds in the garage with the shaft only.

Basically the bumper (actually a rubber cork) keeps the center stand in the same position and out of my chain. It bolts onto a piece of aluminum angle which in turn is bolted to the old exhaust bracket.
