Ja-moo's setup works on the z1 forks (should be same spacing as H2 calipers) the kz fork legs require welding extra material to the caliper bracket
my bikes; 80kz1000(project), 77 gl1000, 74 h2 (project)
Past; 78 kz1000, 83 kz550

Any links to that stuff? I'm looking for some sort of bolt-on mod myself keeping the original wheel and forks.
And yeah, the massive rotor probably creates more momentum than braking. lol

They also cut the rotor down to used area only for the ex500 brake conversion, losing a lot of extra rotor mass

Single disc and a 13mn master is considered perfectly good, most think the 2nd brake is overkill, I put dual ex (zx6 1986? I believe on my bike) brake calipers on my 1000

Yorkie wrote: Perfect!! I really don't want to add any more mass to the front wheel so an EX conversion is the solution. Stupidly I sold a twin disk EX conversion with cut down disks to the Kawi2Stroke.com guys a couple of years.....
Make a thread w/pics if you do it. Gonna be a bit before I have any free time for my conversion.

The ex250/500/600 caliper is STILL in use today on the smaller kawis, making them a breeze to get (for a left and a right caliper I paid $35 bucks) bought a matching master for $40, and two new brake lines for $40, all in all I have a more modern, upgraded brake system for under $150, although like I stated, on the kz models you have to relocate the mounting holes, no big deal, a couple hours with a MIG to sort it out.
