If you are talking about six pot ZXR calipers, they do have a bit of a reputation for being......crap! (from what I understand) I think Kawasaki went back to 4 pots in the end,but I could be wrong. You could have a look on the ZXR Interweblogappsite thing. See whats what.

The back brake is great Ed, no problems there. I performed a wee experiment last night. I pushed the pistons right back in and put a couple of large sockets in the calipers and pulled the lever. Hey presto, massive bite and no lever travel. This confirms my suspicion the MC seals are shot to Hell. To be thorough I might s well replace the caliper piston seals too.
I made the mistake of buying some six pot Tokikos a while back at a knock down price and I know why. They are the same bolt pattern as the forks on my Triumph and I thought they would offer me better stopping power. I removed them after days of trying to bleed them. Now they are sitting in a box in my garage where they belong :blink:

I've been using 2010 and newer 14mm front mastercylinders from Ninja 650's on several of my projects with very good results. They are Nissin integral resavour masters with an adjustable lever and a mechanical brake light switch. The last one cost me $30 delivered and Kawasaki will be supplying parts for them for years.
