I have been looking to rebuild my MC due to failure, as is it inoperative. I have been looking online, but have found no MC like mine, making me think that mine is no longer stock. Does anyone have a picture of the stock MC for this model? And also, and recommendations on an aftermarket once if I should have to go that route?
Thank you,
Robby

Z1Enterprises.com lists an oem piston for it, but I did not see a diaphragm. the piston is around $49.
Alternate mc. Here's a reproduction part that looks similar to the 77 mc. Made in Japan.

Just did a quick search on eBay for "1979 Kawasak kz650d Master Cylinder" and found
[ All of these Options - New, Used and Rebuild Kits for '79 kz650-D ]
I bought the front MC I needed from the seller (edit) Fifth... from top - megactore - and was happy with the results (although my MC was not all chrome but black). Part looks good. Feels good and included the electrical switch if your machine doesn't have the hydraulic switch (mine did, so I simply don't use the electric switch).
We'll see how well it holds up but it's stayed dry and bled easily after I rebuilt the front calipers.

I have them on three of my bikes now, and never had a problem with any of them (yet). They are a good option for bikes with "superbike" style handlebars. I see there is a similar reproduction? available now - Chinese made, on e-bay, several distributors, for as low as $28. Same as the megactore...

Who is this question directed at? Me with the EX650 master cylinder? If so, the master I bought came off a wrecked bike with very low mileage and the master was like new. No reason it shouldn't last 30+ years with proper maintenance.
