Ok so I've been on a hunt to track down some shakes and rattles that were driving me crazy.
I had a buzzy tach, some rattles in the dash over bumps etc that I was able to get sorted out.
My final rattle I like to take care of is in the front brakes, at low speeds I get a steady clatter that will go away the second I touch the front brakes.
Sounds like 2 spoons being clacked together.
The front wheel is secure, the caliper bolts are secure, the brakes work fine.
The rotors look to be in good shape, I've cleaned and greased the slides and put some lube on the back of the pads.
What am I missing?

I'm taking a shot in the dark here, but there's a Phillips head screw that goes into the back of the inner pad thru the spacer insert. It could be loose or missing. I just looked at your parts diagram and it is not shown. I know my 80 Z1R has them, and it's not shown on that parts diagram either.

Mine were doing that too. There are six O rings on the bolts that hold the calipers together. Mine were wasted or gone all together. I got some at the HDWR store and no rattles.Used a little grease on them so they would slide in and not get pinched.

That just might be it.
I'll take a look tonight, should have the orings on the shelf, I have several kits.

I put in what I had then got some more. Easy to do. With just a couple the noise went away.
