Is csr 1000 frame same as j1000 or gpz1100 frame? was created by richard
Was told by a fellow road racer that his kz1000J race bike had a CSR 1000 frame
I doubt he knew if it really was because he never built it,he said he used it because it was available and cheap
Does anyone know for sure if the frames are somewhat identical, rake?
Is there provisions for all the j or gpz bodywork? I know the csr is a cruiser, but it's not the first time Kawasaki
Did a few minor changes to achieve a different look without making a new frame,i know the fork axles are offset
Example the unitrack gpz1100 had provisions for dual shock set up ,it just wasn't installed,

As far as I know, none of the "J" model frames are exactly alike, just very similar, except the 83-84 GPz1100, the P models, and the 1000R and 1100R, which have significantly different steering geometry. I have the 1000 LTD and 1000 CSR frames, and other than some bracket and steering lock items, they are pretty near identical. My buddy has an 81 GPz1100 frame and it is very nearly the same as the cruiser 1000's except at the rear sub frame section, where it is noticeably different. The rear tank mount is different, also.
The late GPz uni - track frames are so different that even the front engine mounts are different, never mind the tank mounts and rear suspension and sub - frame - completely different.
The 1000R and 1100R have different front end geometry, and the police bikes are reputedly heavier and beefier with different geometry again following the CHiP lawsuits, as I've been told in the past.
All the shaft drive bikes (basically all the cruiser and touring 1100's) are different at the swing - arm pivots....

Oh, to answer your question, no, the early GPz body work doesn't directly bolt on a CSR frame...
