Bad ideas, a specialty.

Hi there everyone, I'm making my upgrade list for my 77/81/82 Kz1100a frakenbike and very high up is the brake system. My lever is super soft and pulls all the way to the bar easily. To be honest my Vulcan 1500 with a single disc was much better! The discs are in decent shape, no heat check marks at all. The pads have lots of meat still left in them, although they feel like cheap organic ones. The lines however, while not cracked or checked, do look older. So I'm considering upgrading lines first, then pads. What is y'alls input? This is my first Kz and I am not familiar with any quirks that they have. Or do they brakes just suck and I should upgrade to later generation brakes?
Thanks again, Rob

No doubt about it - you have air in the brake master cylinder / brake lines. You need to flush the fluid with new and expel all the air. Trust me, King Kong couldn't pull the brake lever all the way to the grip on a KZ front brake that is in proper condition. Below is a picture of me pulling HARD on the brake lever of my KZ650-C1. Ed

Agreed, you have a bubble somewhere in your lines or grunge in the master.
