As per the Kawasaki Service Manual (KZ1100-B1)...rake angle is 29 degrees.

That 29 degrees number sounds right to me.

IIRC the 1000R had a 27.5 rake.

Why do you need the number? Going to an 18" front might quicken up your steering if that is what you need, likewise jacking the rear up with 10mm over length shocks.

I've done these mods to most of my bikes over the years, just go careful as it does change the feel and handling and dial-in the changes a bit at a time if you can,

Hi Tyrell Corp

Thank you for your reaponse, I had a conversation with a gentleman from Johannesburg, he said in the 90's they used gpz1100B1 frames to build Lawson replicas. He says that the rake on the Lawson is 29, (which I agree with) and that the gpz1100B1 has a rake of 29. He explained that according to him the R frame is the J frame with different rake which we are all aware of, he also explains that the R is really a marriage between the GPZ1100B1 and the J, he says that the GPZ frame and the R is the same except for the little chain lock behind your left footpeg. Can that be right?
