1982 kz750 h suspension rebuild was created by nl59
Hello all! I am taking the task of rebuilding my forks. I have posted a few times but to sum up my project. I got the 82 kz750 for $400. It had sat for 16 years before i purchased it. It needed the carbs cleaned and synched. I did this and have put an additional 5k miles on the 2k it had.
i noticed the suspension going bad and it never held air after I used my Mtb shock pump to put air in them. I have new seals on the way and plan to take on the task soon. SHAME ON ME! i don't have a manual yet and the one electronic one I did have became an invalid file. When i start my internship this summer I will be buying a new clymber manual with my first paycheck. So I have found a string of forums with bits and pieces of the manual I believe I can complete the task. Is there anything that you could suggest or watch out for before I begin doing this project? I have had experience with suspension before with dirt bikes and as well with my MTb (Full service on the rear shock, twice). I hope that this is not going to be over my head and would like and advice, criticism, or motivation!
Thanks for reading friends, cheers!

Here's a better version of the 750-4 manual. It's scanned very good & has a yellow/gold cover w color wiring diagrams.
Manual. 1980-84 KZ750-4. 1983-85 ZX750. 750turbo.com --- Index .
The good pdf manual link is 5th from the bottom of the list -->> GPz750 Base Manual.pdf. good scans.
The one that says full english is the cruddy one.
Here's a fork topic with pics. yours should be similar. nOObie fork question
Fork tool for the 650-CSR. The 750H Ltd forks are similar.

Get some Sonic springs and you won't need to put air in the forks.
Instead of making the tool Martin shows you can use a spark plug socket, the type with a hex on the bottom, backwards, so the hex faces down.

If someone gave me a Clymers I wouldn't use it. The factory manual is vastly superior once you get a handle on where the info is distributed throughout.
