Crash/highway bars for 81/82 750LTD was created by Setton
Been looking for crash and highway bars for my bike for a couple of years now and finally found and bought them. They're supposed to arrive tomorrow. The seller pulled them off another '82 750LTD, so they should fit with no modification, right?
I was wondering if anyone can draw circles on a photo showing where it attaches?
Here's the bars in question:
I'm pretty sure they attach here, but it seems like that's only half of it... and I could be wrong about any of it.

I'd say it's the single bolt below the circle.

Yeah, on further inspection I thought the same... but what about the top brackets? I can't identify where they bolt into.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

The top ones bolt on to the front frame.

So the top ones are clamps then? That makes sense, looking at the photos.
What should I do about removing the rust from them if I don't have access to sand blasting?
(edit)
The bars arrived. I bought some phosphoric acid based gel spray from Auto Zone and it's helping a lot with the rust problem. There's still some stubborn bits of rust, but I'm going to be sanding the bar tomorrow with some 600 grit to try to strip the chrome off so I can paint it. The bars had some nasty surface rust all along one side, so the chrome's basically a lost cause at this point anyway.

Ok, so... are the stock bolts down on the bottom of the engine there long enough, or will I need new ones?
I'm just about ready to mount it, but it's the middle of the night, and I don't think it's going to be a good idea to try to mount blacked out bars on a blacked out bike sitting in a pitch black parking space at 1 in the morning.

Yeah, I got it mounted. Routing the clutch cable so that it doesn't touch the pipes was a pain in the ass though.
