Master cylinder reservoir

Is the plastic master cylinder reservoir used on the OEM 5/8" dual front brake option KZs removable? I don't want to mess mine up, but I do want to make sure the orifices are clear. Looks like there's no access to them with it installed. So far I've given it "medium" effort to unscrew it. The next notch up would be to get out a strap wrench.

It is very difficult to remove it without some little damage.

Awesome! Is that from a KZR thread that I missed? Looks like the plastic insert needs to be removed from inside the cup somehow.

"Trouble" is my middle name I guess. The replicas all seem to look completely different than the originals so I'm willing to spend some extra money to have it look original. I picked one up on eBay that actually turned out to be in pretty good shape and now that I've got the "correct" snap ring pliers disassembling and reassembling them is a snap. And by "a snap" I mean takes less than a full day of effort (lol).

Yes, I believe the insert must be removed to gain access to the screws. That picture was posted on KZ650INFO by a member whose ID is 650king. I don't know if he is still a member, but if you go to that site and do a search you may be able to find more info. I saved that picture and the one below for reference about 3 years ago. Ed

I remember taking mine apart to clean and paint ...... been a long time ago but thinking it was held in by 2 screws or like Ed said maybe the screws were underneath and I just wiggled it loose.. Can picture the o ring underneath that I was thinking about replacing but didn't.
That was before the forum and Ebay so its been a while. Hasn't leaked. Have changed fluid 2-3 times since and am planning on rebuilding it and the caliber (have the parts) when I break down and get hoses
