83' kz760 twin k wheel swap and chain conversion

I'm the proud new owner of a 83 kz750 k! It's my first kZ, but had. CB before this!
The 83 750 twin k model I have has the stock 16 mag wheel drum brake and 19 mag disc brake set up.
I'd like to have a 18 spoked wheel disc brake in the rear and a 19 disc brake in the front. I understand I'd have to somehow mount the rear master cylinder i went to a disc in the back. I'll also entertain the idea of having an 18 spoked drum brake in the rear too!
What are my options for wheels? Which years and models can I swap with? I see a kz900 rear 18 with drum brake on eBay right now. Would that work? I'm lost on this!
Also...has anyone ever done a belt to chain conversion on my year and model?
Thanks in advanced!

But have never do a belt/shaft to chain swap.
The main thing is the frame/chain/wheel/rear and front sprocket off set, clearance, alignment, adjustment, if you go to bigger tires and rims as stock.

Not true. I suspect you haven't looked at the swing arm and disk brake setup. (See image below.) There's no way I can see that one could attach a torque link from the disk brake caliper bracket to the bottom of the swing arm without some serious modifications to things. Notice the bracket has the mounting point for the torque link on the right hand side and the torque link runs from that mounting point to the top / forward part of the swing arm. I see no way to run it to the bottom of the swing arm. Even if one was to hang that caliper bracket facing down instead of up the mounting point would then be facing the rear of the bike rather than the front. Ed

Welding on a tab for the Disc Brake isn't too big of a deal for me. I'm ok to make mods to the frame and swing arm to get the disc brake going. I'm more concerned with clearances and bearing sizes and what not.
Does anyone know if I can bolt on a 1000 or 900 rear swingarm onto my 750?

If you're thinking of a dual disk front brake, the 750K has the same steering stem (lower triple) as the KZ750H Ltd models, so you can probably use the forks, brakes & Fr wheel from one of those.

Ok...So i found out that the KZ900 and KZ1000 share the same rear axle diameter. And the KZ1000 shares the same axle pivot bolt as my 750k.
This means I can get the swingarm for the KZ1000 and use an 18 rear spoke wheel from a kz900 and bolt that onto my KZ750k.
:silly:
Now to make sure I can do the chain conversion and not have any issues.

This is dependent of swing arm opening width for the rear wheel and the correct spacers to set the wheel in the middle of the frame and equal to the front wheel position. The front and/or rear sprocket have to adjust so that they are in a straight line with the chain. and not hitting the frame or the tire.. This can be done with new or modified spacers and/or offset front sprocket.
You will see what you have to do when the parts come together.
So many possibilities. It is dependent to the parts do you use..

All that is kinda implied. I'm new to KZs but not to building custom bikes. I'm hoping that the swingarm from the kz1000 can be accepted by my 750 frame! Does anyone have the specs on the 1000 swing arm? I'll measure the 750 swingarm tomorrow....
