Installing Crash Bars on a 1977 KZ750B *and pics of the bike* was created by 650Dude
As some of you may remember from my previous post, I have a few kids, im an insomniac and Ive been near exhaustion. The last few days have been much better.
My bike got tipped over the weekend and only suffered a busted tail light. Ive had crash bars for the bike, sitting around. I bought them on Ebay in December. I dont have the time to put them on, and may drop the bike off to my local shop tomorrow morning.

How long would it take to install them? Here in NYC, shop rates are like $115 an hour and Im trying to get some idea of how long it might take since they charge by the hour. . Ive attached pics of the bars and me on the bike this weekend.

Assuming they have the mounting hardware, and the bars match the bike...15 to 20 minutes for the crash bars. If you are talking about the tail light as well, less than an hour for both. Keep in mind the vast majority of shops will not have tail lights for your bike unless they specialize in vintage Japanese motorcycles.

Me to do work 20 minutes and Im old.
Them probably a hour.
Ask for estimate. Shouldnt be hard for shop to quote.
Thing to remember is , Will the mechanic have all the proper hardware. I see one u clamp. Is that all that is needed ?
Or do you need slightly longer bolts where the crash bar is mounted to existing bolts
Just wondering

1. I have the mounting hardware and the shop I would be taking it to specializes ONLY in UJMs.
2. I found a tailight/signal light set on ebay for $20. Its on its way.

Almost all shops charge a 1 hour minimum. Sounds like you are on your way.

Saved myself some money. Bars didnt even fit. Ebay seller lied lol. Anyone know where I can get ACTUAL crash bars for a 77 KZ750 twin?
