KZ 650 C1 front wheel compatibility was created by Pindar
Hi Folks,
I'm looking for a new front wheel for my 1977 KZ650-C1 (that's bent) - it's a mag wheel.
However, I can only find 1978 650 D mag wheels on eBay or 1979 LTD mag wheels. Will these wheels fit my axle and forks?
Is there another KZ model/year that is compatible?
Thanks to the experts!

The 1977 KZ650-C1 cast wheels do not have the raised edge around the rim that later wheels have. That doesn't mean later KZ650-C wheels won't work, but they won't exactly match the rear wheel in style or original color. See 1st image below for detail. The second image below shows a later KZ650 wheel with the raised rim.
There are quite a few front KZ650 cast wheels on eBay so you may want to take another look using different search criteria. Ed

Hi Ed,
Thank you for the quick reply and great explanation on the nuances between models. I would definitely prefer to find a 1977 cast wheel. I'm in Canada and there are fewer dealers/people willing to ship to Canadian addresses but I'll do some more digging around.
Best!
