Just finished perfecting and buttoning up my '78 kz650-b2. I switched to clubman bars because I liked the lower handlebar look but they are incredibly uncomfortable to ride with even for short joy rides (which is this bikes overall purpose to me). I really do love riding the bike but I really dislike the look of the stock handlebars and I dread the neck and wrist pain from riding with the clubmans. Does anyone know of a set of bars which provide a happy medium between the 2 sets of bars?

I find my stock KZ650-C1 handlebars to be very comfortable, and the B2 came with the same bars. Are you sure yours were properly adjusted (see image below). I ask because I have seen quite a few bikes with the bars rolled forward which I would think would be very uncomfortable. Ed

Superbike bars seem to be a pretty common choice. I installed Emgo European bars from Z1Enterprises.com. superbike bars would be a tad lower than the Euros. next lowest is drag bars. Daytona bars are another style which are maybe a tad taller than the Euro bars & I think with more pullback.
From lowest to tallest of the most common styles that tend to get installeded:
Clubmans >> Drag bars >> Superbike bars >> Euro bars >> Daytonas

Stock US bars are much higher than stock UK bars. You can get them from zpower. Alternatively try renthal superbike bars. I have them on one of mine and find them to be the perfect compremise. Just remember to take a bit of powder coat off them so that the switches are earthed out.The green bike has stock UK bars

I would have gotten superbike bars, but my Fr brake master cylinder has an angled mount, so the reservoir would be tilted quite a bit with them, so I got the European bars instead. I like the Euro bars, but superbikes would be better for high speeds.
