Rear Shock Question was created by bikerguy
Hi all.
This may seem like a silly question. I am finally in process of taking off all the Vetter fairing, rear box and hard bags off. I have removed the top box and the hard bags.
At the top of the rear shocks are the metal bar attachment (1), metal plate for the bags (2), and another metal bar (3).
I was hoping I could just take the top of shock off for this task, but the whole rack won’t slip off. It appears I have to take the whole shock off.
Is it as simple as just removing both top and bottom shock nuts?

Yes, the shocks come off very easy. just remove the shock nuts, then pull the shocks straight off. easy. In your pic it looks like you'll need to remove the chrome luggage rack or whatever that is.

Dont forget .
Be ready for the back wheel and swing arm to drop.
It can throw the balance off of your stand / lift

Thanks everyone. I have removed all the Vetter bags and hardware. The shocks were easy to remove. I put the bike up on bike stand and some wood blocks under the tire (of course secured the front end with tie down straps).
Looks AMAZING without the bags. Gobs more power and handling is old school AWESOME! Okay, I went from a ZX-10 to a little Shadow 750 cruiser for a couple years, so it is nice to have a little pull again - even if the power seems more linear than down your throat all of a sudden power
Now waiting for signals, headlight bracket and headlight from a KZrider member who shipped them from USA to Canada. They are sitting in Toronto and I should get them Monday. Then off with the Vetter front fairing
