1983 KZ750K parts compatible with 1982 KZ750H?

I have found a 1983 KZ750K (the LTD Twin) on CL for a reasonable price ($400) and I checked it out yesterday and the parts I listed above are all in great condition. The bike needs a new battery and it has something (oil/transmission fluid?) leaking out from under the transmission case/maybe the oil pan. Other than that it starts and idles totally fine.
I'm wondering if these parts will fit my bike, especially the fork.
Is it worth it to use this bike as a donor?

I know the seat is the same and I'm willing to bet wheels/axles/brakes are the same, but the tank and the fork may not fit exactly. I'm okay if the forks are a little shorter. I would like something about and inch shorter to flatten out the lines on the bike a bit. But I don't know if they would bolt on or if I'd have to do any fabrication.

I wouldn't assume anything fits. You can compare part numbers at Partzilla.
The 750K has a single disk Fr brake & Rr drum. The 750H has triple disks.
Single disk alloy wheels don't have provisions for a 2nd Fr disk & a brake caliper can't be fitted to the RH fork.
The 750K tank is different, with Rr mounting tab & no fuel level switch. The 750H is bolted at the rear & has the switch.
I don't know if the 750K seat is the same, but I wouldn't assume so as the part numbers are different.
Some of the seat hardware part numbers are different. The seats are similar in appearance, though..
The meters share a number of components, but the meters themselves are probably different.
I'm pretty sure the fenders are the same. easy to check. but the side covers are probably different.

I did look up the fork part numbers on partzilla and the triple tree and stem are the same part number so at least the front end should be able to bolt on to my H3, right?

As to whether or not it can be done, the steering stem has the same part number, but the upper triple part number is different. That may have something to do with the headlight bracket fitment. However, since the stems & steering head hardware are the same, the 750K triple tree should fit the 750H frame head, but don't quote me on that.

I'd bet real money that you could clean your wheels, de-rust the tank and rebuild your forks for less than $400.

Agree! Plus, you would not have to deal with parts that aren't exactly right for your model bike. Ed

I don't have an air compressor or a sand blaster. I could clean the tank but it needs repainting too which the twin tank does not. The last time I had a tank painted it was $260 and that was only because he was a family friend. I've considered painting it myself, but I don't really have anywhere to spray. I could rebuild the forks, but I need the pipes cleaned up because they are pitted.
Luckily there is a swap meet near by in a couple weeks. I'm looking forward to finding something good there.
