Fuel Petcock Assembly R&R was created by ridedrms@pacbell.net
Hey y'all

Bought a OK Hwy Patrol 82 KZ1000P1, which I'm in the process of resto-modding.
Here's my issue at the moment. The fuel petcock has been bypassed and I'd like to put it back to original spec. Problem is the assembly p/n has been superseded and the new p/n is for the '84 and on models and is not backwards compatible. The flange that mounts to the tank is smaller so the screws don't line up. Called the factory support hotline, no help from that quarter.
Does anyone know of a rebuild kit that fits the old assembly? Is there an adapter to fit the new assembly to the old fuel tank? Other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

What's the bolt hole spacing? Is it a stock fuel tank?

51023-1039 (82-2001 models) & 51023-1375 (2002-05) are the only part numbers I've seen listed for the 1000P police motorcycles.
I have assumed both are 44mm as they have a large filter screen & use the same tank o-ring as other models with known 44mm bolt hole spacing.

What JMK ZHI said... The part number is the same from 1981 to 2001 and still available from Kawasaki.
