Could anybody tell me what black paint was used on the misc. black brackets on this bike? Gloss or Matt black? Including the triple tree? Thanks in advance.

Originally paint was like a semi gloss but we all paint them or powder coat them gloss black.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I painted my Z1B semi gloss. Afterwards I realized it was a bit too dull, but I think full gloss may be too glossy. Something in between is my next plan.

Maybe it's just my bikes, or maybe it's 40 years of weather, but it always seemed to me that the aluminum parts were matte black, or at least noticably less glossy than the frame parts. This would be the calipers, top clamp, and the headlight ears on the Z1R. I'm less certain about the switch housing. But I never saw any of those parts when they were young, so maybe it's just how they aged.
