Steering bearing size, was created by seanL4
Hi, I have a 81 z500 b3. Looking to do a usd fork swap and was hoping someone could tell me the upper and lower steering stem bearing size. Plan is to source a front end with same size press in z500 stem in and work from there

I would try All Balls Racing, they have a great data base for the upper and lower steering stem bearing size.

The size for your bike should be:
Top bearing ID 30 mm OD 48 mm Width 12 mm
Bottom bearing ID 30 mm OD 52 mm Width 16 mm

So am I correct in assuming that if a GSX-r 750 from 2004 has the same bearing size, then I can simply press out my z500 stem and swap it into the lower yoke/triple of the gsx-r? Then bolt it up to the frame of my bike using the top gsxr tripple? or am I missing something? I know it will change handling/rake etc and I will need to source a new method of reading my speed.
