Think about it like this, the forks stay stationary. You slide the frame (triple trees) down the fork tubes

Struts are also used on drag racing bikes to control weight transfer to the rear.

If you raise the fork tubes, be certain that there will be no contact between the wheel / fender combo and the frame or exhaust pipes when the suspension is fully compressed. That sort of contact might result in an ambulance ride.

ok i see so struts can hold an advantage over shocks at the strip ? and thanks i would never think to check that
