Hello,

I am having problems (confused) on what set of wheels should I use. First of I have a 78 KZ 750 Twin, the original wheels are spokes and they look bad (rims and spokes) rusted, but the hub is ok (salvageable), I got a some new rims but they are not original and all are 18" front and back. On the other note I also have a set of rims from a 79 KZ 550 LTD that is the 7 spoke rim that I want to put in.

The question here is that what is the best route to go??? Should I go use the stock hub and buy new rims and have them laced with new spokes or should I go with the 550 rims and get a new swing( will it fit on the original chassis) arm and forks ???

Thank you

If you like the alloy rims you may be able to change the bearings to fit your axles using All Balls kits.

In the USA the first year of the KZ550 Ltd was 1980 & it had a 16" Rr wheel w drum brake. Your 750 B Twin should have an 18" Rr w disk brake >> swapping to a drum brake might be a lot of work. I would either have the correct sized rims laced up w ss spokes or get the correct cast alloy wheels for a disk brake.

So I got this 7 spokes rim that I got from Ebay that says 1979 Kawasaki KZ750 K507-1* Rear Wheel Rim 18in but unfortunately the center ID on the hub is smaller compared to the original wheel, I also have the axle bolt on the said new wheel. What should I do in order to use this?
I ask one of the local motorcycle shop here about just getting new bearings but he said that the OD of the original is bigger and the space between the hub will not match.
Any suggestion please and thank you
