Need help identifying rear wheel was created by Soderman
Hi!

I Recently bought a Z650 D4 -81.
Since there is a disc brake on the rear I assume that the rear wheel has been switched out somehow?
Any way to tell what has been mounted and done? :)

Are the pics even clear enough to reveal that?

Thanks!

The 650-D4 came stock with a Rr disk brake. The D1/D2 SR models did as well & probably the D3.

Just an FYI. there's a 1981 KZ650 pdf manual available at various places. If not here, it's on the Files page of the jarlef z650 site.

Oh! I was misinformed, most have missed that part in the manual, got a workshop manual on the way now :)
Probably got confused because someone said that the rear wheel didn't come stock like that.
Thanks for clearing that up!

Your bike is an SR, but maybe they were confusing it with the KZ650-CSR which has a Rr drum brake. The 81 D4 wasn't sold in the USA, so assuming it was a CSR would be possible here. EB sellers mix up sr & csr on a regular basis.

Be sure to download the pdf. I rarely use the paper manual any more.

Alright, that makes allot of sense actually about the confusion between SR and CSR! (Even though this is Sweden and the D4 obviously was sold here, but allot of info about these bikes come in the form of forums mostly in English)
Found the manual you mentioned aswell, thanks for the guidance!
