Eeerrr! just venting.

I had some new skins put on the GPz last weekend. While I was at it I was doing a bunch of other stuff, Chain, sprockets, clutch etc. After putting the bike back together, I fired it up on the center stand to check runout and I'll be damned if the back wheel is seriously tweeked. The wheel runs true at its center but the further out it gets,WOW. I can't believe I couldn't feel it. I had the tires put on locally and there wasn't that much weight on the wheel for balance. I would have noticed a bunch of weight if it was seriously out of balance.

Oh well, guess I'll keep my eyes open for a replacement.

Were you measuring on the wheel or on the tire?
It's not uncommon for bike shops to fail to seat the bead all the way around.

I have a hard time believing you could not feel a bent wheel as well, my guess is if the wheel is actually bent, then they did it during installation.

Yes the runout was measured at the wheel. I wonder how you could bend a wheel installing a tire without damaging or gouging the surface of the wheel. This thing is bad. I took it off last night and checked axle shft for true and then mounted the wheel on a stand to better see the runout.

Those tubeless tires can glue themslves to the rims, and make it real difficult to break the bead loose. If they mounted it on a tire changing machine supported only at the center of the wheel, then it's entirely possible they bent it trying to break the bead.

Cast aluminum wheels will bend to a point, then they break :)

In most shops, the newest guy with the least amount of experience gets the job of changing tires.

after i got the 900 running I noticed my rear wheel is out of true also, I have to send it in to someone that will tweak it back into straight if I cant find another one at a reasonable cost.:(
