Speedometer cable nut was created by Beakster
Hi. My Speedo cable nut which holds the cable into the speedometer has split

Anyone know the size of it or where to get a replacement?

If I have to replace the whole cable what's the cheapest way to do it. I found some new old stock ones but the postage is always double the cost of the cable.

Thanks

It's difficult to give you advise when you don't list the model and year of the bike.

Is it possible to replace the cable nut without disassembling the cable ? Doesn't the nut have to be installed before the cable-end is crimped on?

Seems ashame to replace the cable when it's just the nut that's at fault. I reckon I could get a new one on by bending the flairing on the end then reflairing it.

I think this is what I need
www.carrotcycles.co.uk/speedo-tacho-driv...ion-nut-m10x1-0.html

All the ones on ebay seems to be abroad and they want 20+ american dollars to post it, but it does seem like that's probably going to be the easiest way. Held together with electrical tape for now. A spot weld might see the nut right, but I'll probably just replace the whole cable.

Thanks
