Kz1000 LTD seat foam and cover source options was created by bluej58
I tried a saddle seat this year and it was comfy enough but it pushed me forward too much and I'm sorry to the folks that like them but I don't think they look right on a somewhat stock 1000
So I'm going back to a LTD seat because I like the little bit of back support that I get plus they just look right IMO.
I have a pan and am not afraid of doing the work but I think it would be wise to get the foam and cover from the same place.
I'm not as concerned with era correct as I am with comfort, good foam is important to me
Z1 parts has them but they want to much for shipping
and I only see covers on Z1E
Any suggestions?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI had the same issue. I got the Z1/KZ 900 seat from Z1E but it was too hard on my butt for long rides. I found one for a later model and made it fit. Came from a stepped frame so it took some doing. I'll be buying a cover soon and they are fairly cheap.

Yeah, from what I'm seeing the covers are cheaper then the foam that I am looking at.

You can likely buy a block of foam from a nearby automotive upholstery shop, but it will need to be shaped to fit.

I got my seat for $45 and actual shipping. It came with the foam and pan that I don't use. I got it with an eye on putting a cover on it but that was three years ago and it is still nice enough to use. My backside thanks me for it every time I ride. I had one of those King/Queen seats and hated it. Couldn't move around and sitting too far forward. Paid too much for it new and it sat on the bike 15 years under a tree. Maybe that's another reason I didn't ride it so long.
