I'm interested in adding a windshield and was wondering if anyone had recommendations. My bike is 100% stock, so hoping to find a model that provides good coverage but will not look too goofy. Any suggestion is welcome!

Thanks!

Not a recommendation, just a pic of a 440 I saved, but I don't know what fairing it is. I guess it's kind of similar to a Z1R fairing. ???

.... 1982 KZ440. not mine.

Here's a SlipStreamer SS-28 windshield that I test-fitted on my 81 KZ650-CSR, but it contacted the handlebar controls. It probably would've worked w the stock handlebars, but I had already swapped them out. The SS-28 will probably fit your 440 w the bars in your pic. It also comes in clear. It's kind of a big shield, though.

I just ordered the S-06 Spitfire. It seems to be well rated and the price is not too bad. I'll post a photo when I get it installed so others can see how it looks.

Thanks!

Here are the photos. It definitely helps block the wind off my chest. The helmet is still noisy, but then again it's not the tallest windshield available. I have stock handlebars and found that if you connect this at the base it ends up with a decent looking position. The clutch cable does push up against the screen and has caused some blemishes to the bottom left, but hey it's an older bike and it's got some character, so not a serious issue for me.

I just ordered the S-06 Spitfire myself. Not as tall or wide as I would have liked but it doesn't look ridiculous on the bike. It definitely keeps the wind off my chest which is mainly what I was looking for. Good price and really easy to install. Only one ride with it up to 70 MPH so far. No vibration from the shield.

As Always,
